Why do I lose motivation so quickly after starting something?

I often feel excited and motivated when I start something new—like studying, working out, or learning a skill—but after a few days (sometimes even hours), I completely lose that motivation.

I either start procrastinating, get distracted easily, or just don’t feel like continuing, even though I know it’s important for my growth. This pattern keeps repeating, and it’s frustrating because I’m not able to stay consistent with anything.

I’m not sure if this is due to lack of discipline, mental fatigue, or something else. Has anyone experienced this? What are some practical ways to stay motivated and consistent after starting something?
